Does your breath catch a bit when you look down and see a message coming in from a member of your family? Sometimes family doesn’t evoke the warm Hallmark card feelings we might like it to. Perhaps your first thoughts are ones of guilt and obligation, perhaps even anger, instead. Setting boundaries within toxic relationships can be tricky and the decisions we make are very personal. One person may decide to walk away from challenging family members all together where another might choose to set some boundaries and move along. There is no right answer but understanding that you are not alone can help you decide which direction to go in to create a little more peace.
